The patterns long-haul reviewers keep returning to.
What players love
The day-counter time system is what 80-hour fans won't stop talking about — every NPC quest slot competes against the main plot.

"An absolute RPG masterpiece and impressive achievement in game design! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3797401929"

"Imagine Witcher 3, but instead of Geralt you play half-vampire trying to save his family and it all takes place in Velen. High quality writing and quest design included. That is basically Dawnwalker in a nutshell. So, smaller in scope, but still very very good and probably my GOTY. 9/10"

"I have so far only completed the prologue, but *what* a prologue. Upon finishing it, I simply felt joy and relief that the game I've waited for since its reveal is finally here, and it's amazing. Us vampire fans are finally eating well."

What frustrates them
Early-game duelist difficulty has 70-hour players flagging combat timing as the wall — enemy animations take 10+ hours to read clean.

"The game itself is alright, it's basically a witcher like, with witcher x KCD combat. But the game needed some more time in the oven, unstable framerate, frametimes, stuttering. The traditional UE5 experience."

"The combat and camera feel incredibly jank, and the optimization is pretty terrible."

"Doesnt feel like a $70 game. The writing and story seems stiff and the leveling up skllls costing time has to be one of the worst mechanics in video game history. Maybe can recommend at 40 bucks but definitely not worth 70"
